What is convergent journalism? In my opinion convergent journalism is way of technology used in order to give information to the readers. Somehow, we can call it digital journalism. The age of technologies which gradually increased may become a great event for journalist to work with different form. Journalist may have alternatives to inform and create articles. The digital media which currently used are HTML forms, PDA, Blogs, and Email. Other supported forms such as FLASH, PHP, also may considered to be journalist new way of writing. People also can communicate each other they can do interactive chat, which only sign for free to the platform such as Yahoo, MSN, and Google. Besides that, cyber forum that has been created to the particular website can be very informative and helpful, as people can ask and have feedback within the forum. The digital journalism has its basic form of the way journalist write. According to the Kawamoto (2003) these basic rules of journalism should be related to the story that has been researched, must be based on reality, accurate, fair, and balanced, deliberately provide correct form, well contextualized, moral, and readable. This is the way how journalist can take part of digital age.
We already know that electronic publication is faster than printed publication. This trend increase gradually in recent years, as people tend to search fast and accurate information. On this day, that internet become more common for people, online information such as news may vary in its form. The way of using the Hypertext has produce unique output. The design also be considered, and specifically the website will employ special graphic, embedded to the website. This may the information become clear, effective and interactive as long as entertain readers. The combination of broadcast media with newspaper publishing can create hybrid process of web production. To say, this could generate interest among journalist and readers in the web.
